The infrared heating film SMART HEATING FILM is a high-quality product that works in almost every case. It is ideal for use as surface heating with a special focus on floor, ceiling and wall heating. We can safely say that the quality of the workmanship in combination with a broad functionality makes it irreplaceable in its field.
The heating film works on the basis of the electrical resistance of the coal. Infrared heating film consists of selected carbon and aluminium paste, which is applied to PET film using modern technology (printing technology). This material has excellent insulating and fire-resistant properties. The PET film is protected with a special foil. The copper strip electrode acts as an electrical conductor, while the silver strip serves as a protection against sparking.
The heat is generated by means of electrical resistance on special graphite heating bands. The heating power depends on the distance between the aforementioned strips, the width as well as the amount of graphite used. The SMART HEATING FILM heating foil is perfectly suited as a basic heating system.
The heating foil is suitable as basic heating or, if necessary, as additional heating for all types of buildings. It can be used in apartments, houses, hotels, restaurants, cafés, shops, offices, kindergartens, hospitals, holiday homes, sports centres and agricultural buildings. This reliable and economically advantageous form of heating is a source of healthy heat wherever people need it.
The biggest advantage of SMART HEATING FILM is its ability to self-regulate, which reduces heating costs. This ability is based on the principle of thermal resistance. As the temperature of the film increases, the electrical resistance increases at the same time. According to Ohm’s law, the intensity of the current decreases, which leads to a decrease in power consumption and thus in the consumption of electricity. The electric current flows through a layer of carbon molecules inside the carrier polymer. When cold, they lie next to each other, but as the temperature increases, they begin to move away from each other.
In this way, the electrical resistance increases while the power decreases. The self-regulation with foil saves up to 25 to 50% electricity. An additional advantage of self-regulation is the fact that it prevents undesirable overheating of the print layer when covered with insulating material (stylish carpet, chest of drawers, etc.).
Selection of the area to be heated by the heating foils
In case of installation of a foil with appropriate power, but covering too small floor area, the waiting time for obtaining comfort parameters in the room will be longer, but in this case we will provide the necessary heating power, which will guarantee the warmth in the room. Even then the waiting time for obtaining optimal parameters will be longer, but in this case we will provide the necessary heating power.
Correct thermostat selection
The use of a thermostat with a contact of insufficient power (in relation to the handled power) can cause damage to the design elements, resulting in a failure of the heating system – missing heating. The installed heating foil should not exceed 80% of the thermostat’s permissible power.
There are several key issues to consider when choosing a film installation, both in the design and the execution of the installation. The basic error that can be found in the design of the heating film system is the use of a model with too low unit capacity. This may be due to an underestimated demand for heat output. Apart from an obvious underheating of the compartments, the time after which the temperature value reaches the preset level (or close to it) is longer than with a correctly sized installation.
